I have lost my little girl
Have you seen her?
She loves to play and twirl
And she has flowers in her hair.
She walks barefoot, since she doesn’t like shoes.
She’s really kind. Sweet and strong,
She lifts fairy dust when she moves
And her hair is really long.
She loves fairy tales and stories,
And she is never in a hurry.
I tried looking for her in my memories,
But everything is too blurry.
I tried looking for her in the mirror,
But all I see is myself.
Sometimes I can almost hear her,
Like she’s a story on my shelf.
I’ve looked in picture books and under stones.
I tried in the woods between the trees
And I must be doing something wrong,
‘Cause again all I see is me.
But I have no doubts, none,
That she is somewhere over here,
That she is never really gone
For I always feel her near.
I can hear her by my side
When I pull a crazy stun
And I’m afraid things won’t go right,
I hear her saying “This will be fun!”
My little girl loves all things magical,
She loves fairies and wings,
And it might not be practical,
But she pictures flying when she swings.
When I dance, I hear her giggling,
But not when I'm dancing to the beat,
She laughs when I’m spinning
And stomping with my feet.
She likes to sing her heart out
and she is really loud.
She screams and shouts,
But her mom is always proud.
She loves the color blue,
And she is obsessed with water.
Why? Don’t have a clue
But it doesn’t really matter.
She has no freckles, but pretty olive skin
She has chubby cheeks,
She is short and thin,
She has a dimple when she speaks.
She loves to make friends,
And making people laugh.
Her kindness knows no ends.
It’s like it’s never enough.
I lost my little girl a while ago,
But I swear she’s really mine.
I think she feels alone,
So, I try finding her through rhymes.
I have lost my little girl.
Do you know where she is?
I have lost my little girl.
Perhaps you saw her reading this.
